How to conquer a transitional time for home. Survive the upcoming seasons!

Back to school can be super stressful coming from the ease of a structureless summertime.

Schedules seem to fill up over night, you're worried about easy meals and making sure you or your kiddo has matching socks for at least the first week of school. Decorating your home to your comfort level in this time can be a challenge. Some might say it’s not even worth it. And that just isn’t true! A decorated home is a happy and peaceful home. Those decorations do not have to be extravagant or expensive. At Trellis Marketplace, we are big fans of the in-between season or the TRANSITIONAL seasons in life for one major reason. Simplicity.

These are the times that you really don't need to do to much to guide peace into your home. Neutral pampas, soft dried flowers, easy leaves to rearrange in different areas of the home are key to having a sweet, soft whimsical presence, while still being able to play with structure and stability.

Some might roll their eyes at the plainness of neutral colors, but we look at them as a doorway to pulling those deep dark colors and unique pops of color in our home decor. Dried flowers, grass, and leaves bridge the connect from an easy breezy happy summer time to the vibrant, grounding, and assuring season the autumn brings us all.

I was really drawn to this idea of how to find peace and productivity during what can feel like a weird time of transition. I kept coming back to the pampas that we have in the shop, not just because I am obsessed with this batch, but because these sprigs offer a friendliness to literally any space without breaking your wallet. AND you can use them through and through these upcoming seasons instead of flipping though home decor over and over and over again.

Keep it easy, simple, and sweet on your soul during a new time of change. Let us help you welcome these transitions with a sense of peace and grace.

Winter Open House Weekend

Working with many artisans, makers, and curators, it is helpful to have a very clear launch to the season.

“Why not welcome the holidays with a three day event extravaganza?!” is what we thought while preparing for our Winter Open House Weekend!

The holiday shopping season is always the most intense for small business owners, makers, and creative hustlers of any kind. This year has been especially wild with the high demand of most goods.

We wanted to BRING IT! Free gifts, giveaways, the cutest ‘lil coffee cart in the world, and NEW VENDORS are just a few of the amazing details for this weekend. My Peruvian Treasures, Sarcasm and Sunshine Designs Co., and The Cozy Creator joined our marketplace just in the nick of time for our grand event!

Friday and Saturday morning the scent of Hitch Coffee filled the air. Supplying delicious artisan coffee drinks, these professional baristas mean business! Their presence was amazing and was a huge saving-grace for this event.

Donald and Jillian, passionate about great coffee, recently began their coffee truck journey. We quickly fell in love with their business and were thrilled when they wanted to post up outside for the Winter Open House weekend. We loved being able to sip on something good alllll day long, especially with it being a bit drizzly and dreary. “We know what it’s like, smelling that aroma of freshly brewed beans. It may take you back to a memory or make you jump for joy. We’re here for it either way!” - Jill Leipert

We enjoy event weekends for numerous reasons, the biggest being able to nurture old and new relationships.

Running large events gives us many opportunities to share with other makers and creators.

Gallery Wall Artist

Designs by Allie Reilly takes over our gallery wall!

We love Allie’s punch that she brings to our marketplace. We believe in allowing freedom of speech and expression and we are always encouraging artisans to elevate themselves in our collaborative space. Her work is a different pace and we like that. Allie is our featured artisan for many reasons, but especially for her ability to bring a smile to the face of so many different types of customers is pure magic!

Now that the holiday season is in full swing, come cross some items off that gift list by shopping with our local makers.

Gratitude and Glass Werks

This year has been a WILD one, needless to say! Yesterday as we celebrated Thanksgiving, I got to review what I am grateful for during 2020. The first thing that came to mind was the out-pouring of local support from the Elizabethtown, PA community! Shoppers in our community made sure that we were going to make it through this pandemic by connecting with us on social media & shopping virtually. Their continual support allowed us to keep growing opportunities, working with hand-crafted artisans to bring variety to the local shopping scene. We have established a lovely give-and-take with our makers and shoppers, by trying our best to provide only the most unique gifts, home decor, and so much more!

Gift Art, Wear Art!

Glass Werks Studio creaties unique and one of a kind designs! Share with someone how special they are by gifting something 100% genuine!

Despite the intensity of this year, something that we keep coming back to is a creative process! Losing yourself entirely in the process of creating something; Creating art, a home, a meal, anything, will always be what the soul needs! We are so grateful to be a collaborative home for the creators who need inspiration during trying times.

We will forever be inspired by this talented artisan!
